I made this collection as an homage to my african ancestry. As part of the diaspora, our stories and lineage were lost. In an effort to reclaim my identity, culture, and connect back to my roots outside of America I took several ancestral tests.

The results uncovered my genetic linkage to the following tribes listed in the order of highest percentage:

Yorùbá, Esan, Mende, Mandinka, Ivory Coast - Ghana, Bamum, Mossi ,Semi-Bantu, Benin, Cameroon, Bantu ,Akan, Luhya ,Sotho-Tswana, Kwangali

With this uncovering, birthed a new Black Gurl Bold collection — 14k, 18k, and Sterling Silver artfully crafted accessories and pieces designed with the African Diaspora in mind.
